- Yes, I expect they would use a QFP like on the 3000 if it's available in
- the EC version, those are usually mounted right on the board, the special
- sockets made for them generally just get used for prototyping.

- available in RP case which is PGA, and also that is what the GVP 40MHz

- You got that right. Now that SMD parts are more available in smaller lots,
- it's even worth using them for limited production. The slight increase in
- component cost is more than offset by the savings in board costs and
- simplified layout and assembly.
